Write a commentNewry City Blues Festival kicks off for the first time this weekend at venues around the city. It runs from Friday the 1st of August to Sunday the 3rd of August.
The festival was launched last week when Organisers, Venue Owners/Sponsors and Musicians were all in great festive form and really excited to be part of a brand new blues festival right in the heart of the City!
Hosting both the cream of local blues bands and Belfast musicians, the festival promises to be a fantastic weekend of craic, dancing and the finest blues, jazz, folk and rock!
Attending the launch were venue owners (sponsors) from The Brass Monkey, The Bank, Cobbles and Amplified commented that this is the perfect time to initiate such a new and vibrant festival event to Newry City. With growth, investment and the great new Canal promenade; visitors will be both surprised and impressed when they make the trip down for the fantastic 3-day event.
The program shall feature over 15 free back-to-back gigs including daytime events and there will be something for everyone including the finest of foods served in the festival venues.
Commencing on Friday 1st of August 2014 with artists including Suzanne Savage, Allison McGrath, The Bluez Katz, Backbone Blues Band, Cold Porter, Preacher Caseys, Bill Finnegan, The Nooks, Martin McGuigan, Under the Three, Vocal Zone, 3’s A Crowd and King Sized Jacks; an amazing brand new Newry City Blues Festival will be unmissible!
