Meadow and Armagh Road Community Association are hosting a 'Swab Drive' this Saturday for 8 year old Bobby Browne from Bessbrook. Bobby urgently needs a bone marrow transplant following his diagnosis with leukaemia in May 2022. Swab events have taken place at many locations but to date no match has been found. You could be that match!
The event is this Saturday 15 July from 11am until 4pm in the community centre at the Whitegates Complex. There will be trained volunteers available to register people and to take a swab from the inside of their mouth, this will be sent off to DKMS, an international charity dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders.
If you are aged between 17 and 55 years and in general good health, you may be able to register as a blood stem cell donor.
Please encourage your family and friends to attend this registration and swabbing event.
The whole process takes just 10 minutes.
