Darkness into Light, the suicide awareness initiative takes place this Saturday morning 11 May at locations throughout Ireland. Locally the Bessbrook/Camlough Walk takes place this Saturday 11 May in Derramore Forest Park commencing at 4.15am. There is also a walk at Crossmaglen departing from Cardinal O'Fiaich Square at 4.15am.
To highlight the event Newry Town Hall will be illuminated in the colours of Darkness into Light on Friday, 10th May, along with five other sites across Northern Ireland, to help raise awareness of the sunrise event and bring hope to those affected by suicide.
Darkness Into Light is organised by Pieta and proudly supported by Electric Ireland helping to raise much needed funds for local suicide and bereavement support services.
All funds raised for Darkness Into Light in Northern Ireland are in support of Pieta and its 10 partner charities here, including PIPS Hope and Support in the Newry area, ensuring that those most in need of help have access to the support they need.
There’s still time to sign up for the most important sunrise of the year. Visit www.darknessintolight.com
