Stylish, interactive and right bang up to date’ is how website designer Columba O’Hare of Fotacol, Newry describes the just revamped AgriSearch website www.agrisearch.org
For AgriSearch project manager Jason Rankin this site update was a vital step forward in making research results of practical value to farmers available 24/7.
As Columba explained, “The AgriSearch team were looking for a new website to highlight their R & D projects, both on-going and completed, as well as keeping dairy, sheep and beef farmers abreast of the latest news and up-coming events.
“The website is very easy to use so finding an item of interest to an individual user is straightforward and there is a facility to download details of each project.
“In an important addition to the previous service interaction with the social media now allows users to share stories from the AgriSearch site on their own Facebook or Twitter accounts.
“AgriSearch update the website themselves on an almost daily basis so a user friendly content management system allows articles and images to be added at the click of a button.”
Best known as one of the province’s top agricultural press photographers Columba, a farmer’s son, has also established an excellent reputation as a website designer with breed clubs and agri-businesses.
AgriSearch, the NI Agricultural Research and Development Council, was formed in 1997 to give beef, dairy and sheep farmers direct involvement in practical research aimed at maximising farm margins.
