Concerns over fuel supplies at a small number of filling stations at the weekend have prompted Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald to reassure the public that there is no confirmed disruption to fuel supply chains.
Reports emerged over the weekend of shortages at some filling stations in the north, prompting the Department for the Economy to issue a statement just before 6pm today.
The Minister said: "My officials are in regular contact with the oil and fuel depots here, and I can confirm that fuel continues to be delivered as normal."
Dr Archibald added that work is ongoing across a range of partners to keep supply stable, saying: "We will continue to work closely with industry, other government departments, the Irish Government and British Government, and key supply-chain partners to monitor and maintain supply."
