A Nurse at Daisy Hill Hospital in Newry has clocked up an incredible 50 years of service and managed to help out on every ward during that time.
Staff Nurse Maureen Murtagh started her nurse training at Daisy Hill way back in 1972.
Once qualified, she took up a post with Daisy Hill Theatres/Recovery where she has stayed ever since and is now the longest serving member of the team.
Throughout her career, Maureen has also helped out on every ward in the hospital from maternity, medical, surgical, paediatrics and the Emergency Department.
Thanking Maureen for her years of dedication, Acting Ward Manager Pamela Fitzpatrick said: “Maureen is a valuable member of our team, an inspiration to all of our staff, her professionalism is exemplarily and we all aspire to her standards. We are lucky to call her our colleague and friend.”
