Statistics released yesterday by the Department of Health show that in the three week period from 22 November to 19 December that 40.53% of hospital admissions for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland were not vaccinated!
That translates to 274 out of a total of 676 Covid-19 cases. That figure is made even more stark considering over 90% of the adult population is vaccinated with at least one dose.
Out of the 676 admissions 320 were fully vaccinated 2 doses, 274 unvaccinated, 57 fully vaccinated + booster/ 3rd dose, 18 partially vaccinated and 7 undetermined.
The figures have led to the Stormont Executive's Chief Medical Officer, Professor Sir Michael McBride re-emphasising the importance of being vaccinated. Prof McBride said “If you’re eligible for your booster, please get it now. If you are over 50, you in particular need to get it now. If you haven’t had your first or second dose, it’s still not too late – some protection is better than none.”
