Camlough fundraiser Pat McGinn is gearing up for an exciting challenge as he prepares to run the Belfast Marathon in aid of Southern Area Hospice. Pat, a dedicated volunteer, will take on the 26.2-mile course in May to raise essential funds for the charity.
A long-time supporter of local causes, Pat has always been passionate about giving back to the community. This year, he is once again pushing himself by taking on the marathon in support of a cause that holds a special place in his heart.
Having raised funds for Southern Area Hospice for several years, Pat has witnessed the vital work the organisation does, providing compassionate care to those in need. Pat explained, “Fundraising for the Hospice has allowed me to see first-hand the incredible impact they have. I’m taking on this challenge to help raise much-needed funds for their invaluable service. Over the years, I’ve completed marathons in London, New York, and the Great North Run for the Hospice. I always say, 'There will be a day I will not be able to do this - Today is not that day!' "
James McCaffrey from Southern Area Hospice commented, “Pat’s commitment to taking on such a challenging task once again is truly inspiring. I’ve known Pat for many years, and it’s wonderful to see his unwavering dedication to raising funds for the Hospice’s work.”
