People Before Profit Newry are hosting a Public Meeting on Palestine in Newry later this month.
The meeting will take place Wednesday 24 January at 6pm at Ballybot House, Cornmarket with Belfast West MLA Gerry Carroll as the main speaker. There will be a Q/A session to conclude. The main topic for the meeting will be 'How to win Palestinian Liberation'.
Marc Mac Seáin a local spokesperson for People Before Profit had this to say: "Zionism actively pursues Genocide in Gaza with the support of the USA, Britain and the EU. This barbarism is putting the reality of Imperialism clearly on display. The global anti-Imperialist solidarity movement has been rising to meet this horror head on.
"Mr Carroll has been a consistent and outspoken supporter of the Palestinian right to resist occupation, settler colonialism and apartheid."
MacSeáin added that on the night there will be a discussion on how to channel the solidarity movement to challenge the forces which support Apartheid Israel to aid Imperialism and Genocide, closer to home.
