Many Newry Bars Café's and Restaurants are back open tomorrow Friday 3 July following the latest stage of easing of the Covid-19 health safety measures.
Quite a few are as yet unable to open with current government guidance, especially if they have no outdoor area or don't serve food. Newry, Mourne and Down District Council are aiming to speed up the application process for Pavement Licences which would allow venues to trade outdoors. The licence will also be free for the first 12 months.
Some of the bars announcing their re-opening include the Brass Monkey who announced that it will be opening at 12 noon tomorrow with strictly Table service and the outside Beer garden available.
Cobbles will be re-opening at 3pm for restaurant bookings and bar service with additional bar facilities upstairs from 6pm.
Ginger Janes will be open from 5pm with table service and limited numbers.
The Bank willopen their Terrace Beer Garden with Restaurant bookings via email.
The Merchant Bar is also taking bookings for food and will open tomorrow.
Nan Rices Beer Garden will also be open from 12 noon tomorrow and the bar will be serving a full pizza menu.
Bellinis are also open from 12 noon tomorrow with a bistro menu on a reservation only basis.
Other venues that have indicated when they will re-open include the Mourne Country 9/7 and McSwiggans 20/7.
Café's and Restaurants
Restaurants to announce their opening tomorrow include the Shelbourne. The Sheepbridge opens from 3pm For meals and beverages.
The Oliver will be also open from 12 noon with bookings advisable.
Courtneys Steakhouse is opening tomorrow via booking only. Courtneys Cafes are also opening again tomorrow.
Other restaurants like Art Barfunkel are looking into al-fresco dining and councils fast tracking of Pavement Licences will be key to how quickly many venues re-open, especially if they have no outside area.
La Dolce Vita are re-opening their restaurant 9/7 while Finegan and Son will open again soon.
