Planning Application for 14 Apartments at former Newry Pub

An application has been lodged for Planning Permission for 14 Apartments on the site of the former O'Hares pub in Canal Street, Newry.

The application in the name of CSP Newry Ltd plans a new build for twelve two bedroom apartments in a three storey block and two one bedroom apartments in a two storey block.

It's proposed that the apartments would be designed for disabled access.

A design and access statement reads "The proposed scheme is for a 'Category 1' type development designed for the elderly and it is envisaged that the completed building will be run by a Housing Association."

The site would front both Canal Street and New Street and has been the location of a Public House for many years. O'Hares Bar closed earlier this year.
