Planning permission has been granted for another 46 new homes for Newry City. The development is adjacent and to the west of Sacred Heart Grammar School at at Ashgrove Avenue in the city. It's one of several large building projects in progress throughout the city including Drumalane, McCann's Corner, Cornmarket and Canal Street.
The application made by EDB Construction, Killeavey in November 2021 was decided last week and will see 16 detached and 30 semi detached homes built on the site. The houses will be finished with off white render and grey stone and are a mix of three and four bedroom with open plan kitchen/ dining area.
Permission is granted with a condition stating that provision shall be made and permanently retained, within the approved development, for a minimum of 16 social housing units.
