Planning permission has been granted for 15 apartments at the entrance to Forest Hills on a 0.57 hectare site alongside the Warrenpoint Road.
Planning documentation explains "The site is located adjacent to the dual carriageway and effectively marks the entrance point to Newry City, being located on the edge of the settlement limit, is high profile and plays an important function marking the entry point."
Permission includes demolition of existing buildings and erection of the residential development of 15 apartments consisting of three two storey blocks with four two bedroom apartments in each and one storey and a half block containing three two bedroom apartments.
Vehicular access will be from Forest Hills with communal parking areas provided to the fronts of blocks 2, 3 and 4 and to the side
of block 1. An existing stone wall is to be replaced with a new retaining wall and associated planting will also feature.
Glena Developments is the developer of the scheme.
