Plans are underway to upgrade the current football pitches at Jennings Park in Newry to a 3G facility that will accommodate both football and soccer. An application for planning permission was submitted 19 June by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
The application is for the upgrade of existing grass pitches to new 3G synthetic pitch to accommodate 2 soccer pitches and 1 full size GAA pitch.
Plans include new floodlighting, ballstop fencing, new pitch drainage system and new perimeter paths. The proposal includes all associated site works.
The 3G pitch will comply with both GAA and IFA guidelines
