Police are appealing for information after approximately 47 cattle were stolen from land in the South Armagh area. The animals were last seen in a field on the Macullagh Road, Newtownhamilton on Friday 23 May 2026.
The cattle, which were of mixed colours and all carrying official identification tags, were discovered missing on Monday 25 May 2026.
Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed livestock trailers, cattle lorries, tractors with livestock trailers or other unusual agricultural vehicle movements in the area between 6pm and 8pm on Friday 23 May, or who noticed vehicles on rural roads during the late evening or early morning hours around that time.
Anyone with CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or other footage that may assist enquiries is also asked to get in touch, as is anyone with information about the whereabouts of the missing cattle, those responsible for the theft, or cattle being offered for sale in suspicious circumstances.
Police have stressed that even the smallest piece of information could assist the investigation.
