Local Police are appealing for information on several incidents that have happened in the past few days.

The first is an assault in the Daisy Hill area.

Around 9pm on Thursday, 2 February, an 18 year old male was walking with a dog towards Carnagat Road when he was approached by two males. The males demanded that the dog be given to them and, when the teenager refused, they assaulted him with a knife. He sustained cuts to his legs which required medical treatment.

The first male is described as being approximately 17/18 years old, around 5ft 7in tall, of slim build with dark eyes, a broad nose and long face. He had a piercing in his left eyebrow. This was semi circular with two cone shaped points on each end. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and black gloves. He spoke with a foreign accent.

The second male is also described as being around 17/18 years old. He was wearing a dark coloured top, black tracksuit bottoms with stripes down the side, white Nike tainers, a dark coloured scarf pulled up over his face and a tight fitting beanie hat.

It is believed the males came from a laneway which connects Woodlands to Daisy Hill. It is known locally as Dead Man's Lane.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or has information in relation to this incident to contact them.

They are also reissuing their appeal for information following a two vehicle road traffic collision on the Hilltown Road on Monday, 30 January.

The collision, involving a white Rover 220 and silver Alfa Romeo, occurred around 6.30am, around 150m from the Leode Road junction on the Hilltown side.

A 23 year old male was taken to hospital and his condition is described as critical. Four other males, two aged 21, a 24 year old and a 34 year old, were also injured however their injuries were not life threatening.
