Police Name Woman who Died Following Markethill Road Collision

Police have named the woman who died following a collision involving a lorry at Gosford Road, Markethill on Wednesday, 3 December as 54-year-old Aileen Finch from Markethill. Ms Finch passed away at the Royal Victoria Hospital on 4 December.

Chief Inspector Simpson of the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit said: “Police received a report at around 10.20am of a collision involving a lorry and a female pedestrian in the Gosford Road area of Markethill.

“Officers and colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene and the woman was taken to hospital, where she remained in a critical condition. However, she has since sadly passed away."

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with their investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 353 of 03/12/25.
