Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a burglary at Carlingford Park in Newry yesterday, 6 August.
Speaking of the incident Detective Constable Middleton said: “We received a report at around 9.10pm on Wednesday, 6th August that a property had been burgled in the Carlingford Park area.
“We believe the incident took place sometime between 10am and 9.10pm on Wednesday, 6th August and are keen to hear from anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the area during that time.
“We would be especially keen to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam, CCTV or mobile footage of the area that we could review."
Newry City Councillor Valerie Harte has described the burglary as deeply concerning. “This was a deeply concerning incident that has left local residents feeling anxious and unsafe. I urge anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact the police immediately.”
Cllr Harte said her party is engaging with police on the case and on wider concerns about anti-social and criminal behaviour in the area.
"Sinn Féin will continue working alongside residents, community groups and the police to tackle criminality and anti-social behaviour head-on and to ensure our communities are safe, supported and protected.”
