PSNI in late night operation at Church Street

At least six police armoured jeeps and other vehicles were involved in a late night operation in Church Street, Newry around midnight last night. 

Police searched gorse land and houses in the area with support from the PSNI helicopter which remained in the area for almost an hour.

During the operation the PSNI came under attack from missiles and Paint bombs close to St Patricks Church of Ireland.
