Write a commentNewry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Roisin Mulgrew was delighted to accept a cheque from Chief Inspector, Joe McMinn and Inspector Russell Vogan from Ardmore Police Station towards her three chosen charities; Davina’s Ark, The Mental Health Forum and Women’s Aid.
Chairperson Mulgrew said, “I am very grateful to the PSNI for supporting me in my endeavours to raise much needed funds for these three worthy charities. It is always very important for anyone who suffers from mental health issues, domestic abuse and drug and alcohol issues to know that there is a range of services available to them, which they can access at any time.”
Chief Inspector, Joe McMinn said, “The funds were taken out of the Newry, Mourne DCU Recreational Club, which is a fund all police officers in the district contribute towards. This presentation is an acknowledgement of the effect domestic violence, mental health and addiction issues have on our entire society.”
