Write a commentThe Community Dental Service which ran one day a month from Rathfriland Health Centre will no longer operate from the centre as of yesterday, 1 August.
It follows the closure of another GP Practice in the village which meant space needed to be made available for the expansion of GP services within the Health Centre.
A Southern Trust spokesperson commented “All Community Dental clients who normally attend Rathfriland Health Centre are being directly notified and have been given the choice to attend John Mitchel Place, Newry, Banbridge Health and Care Centre or Kilkeel Primary Care Centre. Staff are working closely with clients to minimise disruption and to help them make the choice that best suits their needs.
“There will be no change to the service for those additional patients from the area who receive home visits from the team.”
