Residents protesting at the proposed route to a new housing development.

Residents of Drumgullion Avenue took to the street at the weekend for a meeting to air their protest about a proposed route through Drumgullion Avenue for a new housing development north of Hickey's Loanan.

Community representative John McCabe chaired the meeting on Saturday at which over twenty residents attended.

They voiced concerns in relation to the route to the proposed new housing development north of Hickey's Loanan which would see 27 housing units provided. Councillor's Gavin Malone and Michael Savage both heard objections from angry residents about the plans to have the only access route to the proposed development through what they see as an already congested community.

Mr McCabe said "Councillors Malone and Savage are poised to seek a meeting with Dfi Roads hopefully in early September at Drumgullion which was met with a favorable response by all in attendance."
