The long awaited resurfacing of the Ardmore Road at Damolly in Newry will hopefully take place over the summer months. That's the understanding of Newry city Councillor Geraldine Kearns who together with her party have been lobbying for resurfacing of the road for some time.
Cllr Kearns said "DFI officials have confirmed this scheme will be completed in this financial year, and it is my understanding they hope to be onsite over the summer months.
"This is very welcome news, and I will keep the local community updated once exact dates are finalised and the full details of the scheme made available.
"Sinn Féin will continue to prioritise the issues that matter the most to our constituents, and work with our colleague, Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins, to fix our roads and improve the transport network across Newry."
