This weekend events are being held all across the island of Ireland, and online, dedicated to period power and menstruality in alignment with International Menstrual Health Awareness Day on May 28th. As part of the festival local group Changing Cycles has organised an event for County Armagh and County Down this Sunday 28 May.

Ireland is the first country in the world to host a festival devoted to eradicating menstrual shame. The 'Revolution Period 2023' festival was created by yoga teacher and Women’s Circle facilitator and menstruality mentor Kitty Maguire to raise awareness about the importance of the menstrual cycle, eradicate shame connected to menstruation, embrace period power all while raising funds for period poverty. Funds raised will provide plastic free menstrual products for 'Homeless Period' and those without access to menstrual products.

As part of Revolution Period 2023 a Retreat Day is being held this Sunday at Bluebell Lane Glamping, Mullaghbawn. The Retreat Day will be held in Moon Lodge in Bluebell Lane at the foot of Slieve Gullion, nestled in the energy of over 30,000 trees of Private Woodland. The day will be hosted by Joanne Callan, Founder of Changing Cycles, Holistic Therapist & Moon Mother®. Vegetarian Lunch will be provided. Part of the event will be held outdoors so please dress accordingly. The event runs from 11am to 4pm

Speaking of the festival Joanne Callan said "It's important for us to connect with other women, giving it's a new and emerging space and the power of women coming together across the island of Ireland is going to allow us to connect, support and reach more of them"

Social Enterprise Changing Cycles delivers a variety of programs for all ages, abilities, genders and cultural backgrounds to educate and empower people by giving them a deeper understanding of the rhythms and cycles within their own bodies and the world around them.

Changing Cycles educates, empowers and supports women of all ages, helping them understand the physical emotional and energetic aspects of their Menstrual Cycle and helping them to share this wisdom with men.

Events include how to connect and embody your menstrual cycle as a vital sign, release womb related shame, heal generational trauma, support parenthood in alignment with the ebbs and flows of your menstrual cycle at women's circles, yoga classes, red tents, dance, sound baths and workshops to support menarche to menopause and cyclical living.
