Write a commentRing of Gullion have produced a beautiful 2012 Calendar showcasing photographs from the area by local photographers.
The Ring of Gullion together with Newry and Mourne District Council hosted a fantastic amateur Photography Competition in the Ring of Gullion for the first time in 2011.
The theme was “Wildlife, landscape and Heritage”, which photographers were obviously delighted to see, as the quality of images that were entered was outstanding.
There were four very generous companies within the Ring of Gullion who donated great prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd; The Enchanted Spa and Resort, Cloverhill Golf Club, The Cross Square Hotel, and Murphys Bar and Restaurant. The winners chosen for the Calendars were Séan Downey, Siobhán Downey, Alan Hopps, John Curran, Thomas Dunlop, Kevin Loughran, Gráinne Cowan, Dorothy Hatchell and Chris Downey.
The calendar featuring the top 13 images from the photographers is on sale from any tourist office in Newry and Mourne Council for £2.50. More details and images from the calendar can be found on www.ringofgullion.org
