The general public will have the opportunity to view the 5 projects online at www.thepeoplesprojects.org.uk and on UTV the week commencing 29th February and vote for their favourite. Voting opens on Monday 29th February at 9am and closes at 12pm Sunday 13th March 2016. (Terms and Conditions apply)

Mac NI based in Rostrevor, Co Down, will use the funding to run cycling activities, purchase little & large balance bikes and run outdoor activities to support children and young people with autism spectrum disorders.

Activities include a learn to cycle Balanceability course and educational woodland programmes. The project will bring families together and increase the children’s and young people’s skills and confidence and support them to learn about topics including forestry, outdoor skills, communication, social skills and leadership.

“We ran a balanceability programme last year with young people aged 4 – 16 years and it is due to this success and the local demand for the programme we entered this competition. With this funding we can purchase equipment and train our volunteers and helpers so we can sustain this service as an ongoing programme through out the year and one which can be delivered for the foreseeable future. It’s all about making ourselves sustainable so the service doesn’t stop when the funding stops”. says Jennifer Cumming, founder.
