Poyntzpass is once again hosting the Run for Raff this weekend to raise much needed funds for charity. The event was originally run in memory of Lissummon man Adrian Rafferty who passed away with leukemia in 2014. This year 'HQ to Home' fundraisers who plan to walk from Croke Park to Poyntzpass in June, are organising.
Adrian's sister Jacqueline passed away last week but she was adamant that the run should still go on, so this Saturday 13 May participants will have the choice of a 10k or 5k run or a 2.5 mile family walk. The fundraiser in partnership with Redmond O'Hanlon's GAC will be supporting Leukemia and Lymphoma NI and St Joseph & St James's Primary School.
The event starts at 2pm on Saturday at The Railway Bar in the village. Entry fee is Runners £10 and Family £15. The event isn't chipped. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Community Centre.
Participants in the HQ to Home walk will get some welcome training in at the event this weekend.
If you can't make it to Run for Raff and would like to support the fundraiser any donations would be greatly appreciated. You can donate at www.gofundme.com
