Run/Ride On for Raff Present Cheques to Charities

Funds raised by charity events Ride On for Raff and Run for Raff were handed over recently at functions in Lissummon and Poyntzpass.

Ride On for Raff took place in October in Lissummon and involved a 20 or 55 mile cycle round County Armagh.

£3270 was raised for Leukaemia and Lymphoma NI (£1635) and Friends of The Cancer Centre (£1635). Lissummon woman Bernice Rafferty also raised £460 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma (Money that was donated by her friends in lieu of presents for her 40th Birthday Party)

A total of £3270 was raised for two Charities, Friends of the Cancer Cente and Leukaemia and Lymphoma NI. The Cycle was held in October in Lissummon in memory of Adrian Rafferty. The Run for Raff 10k Road Run or 2.5 Mile Walk took place in Poyntzpass in December and raised £4692 for four charities.

Leukaemia and Lymphoma NI and Southern Area Hospice both received £1600; Friends of the Cancer Centre received £792 and Macmillan Cancer Support received £700.

Both events were in memory of Lissummon man Adrian Rafferty who died with Leukaemia in 2014

The Run for Raff event this year was also held in memory of Acton man John Cloughley who  passed away from cancer in 2015 and had taken part in the Run in 2014.
