Calling all Ladies! Fancy a fun day out in Dublin while raising much needed funds for your local Hospice? Get those trainers dusted down and get ready for action. Southern Area Hospice Services celebrates their 18th year taking part in the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon on Sunday 5th June. After 3 years of this famous 10K race being cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Hospice are delighted to be able to take part once again. This is the largest women only event of its kind in the WORLD! Southern Area Hospice need you, the runners, the joggers, and the walkers to join #teamhospice for one of the most atmospheric events Dublin has to offer.
This 10k is built for every woman, so whether you plan on running, jogging, walking or dancing your way to the finish line, Southern Area Hospice will be there to support you. After crossing the finish line, you will also receive your very own medal and t-shirt to mark the occasion!
This year one Hospice participant Kathleen Headley is back to take part for her 16th year! She said, “If anyone is thinking of taking part in the Mini Marathon I would say - get up and go and do it! Even if you have to walk it, you’ll get hooked and take part again and again. You’ll be so inspired – I know we are when we are seeing the women in their 70s or older taking part each year. I was only supposed to take part for one year as a one-off day out with friends, and here I am 16 years later still running for my local Hospice and enjoying every minute of it!”
Don’t delay – sign up today – registration fee is £25 which includes race entry and transportation to and from Dublin. Participants are asked to raise a £125 minimum sponsorship in aid of their challenge for their local Hospice.
