Write a commentSainsbury's Big Bike Ride is coming to Newry this Saturday the 13th of September and proceeds from this Sainsburys-sponsored event will go to assist several charties, including the local branch of Samaritans.
Last May, in a cloud of pink, the super-fit, super-fast cyclists of the Giro d'Italia swept past Newry, en-route from Armagh to Dublin (and ultimately, Trieste) And, in the blink of an eye, they were gone. However, it's not time to relax the cycling muscles just yet at least not for the Staff in Sainsburys!
At lunchtime on Saturday, Sainsburys, and their associated charities, will be joining forces, at The Quays Shopping Centre, to raise awareness of the good work being done and to raise funds to assist them.
Sainsburys have nominated Samaritans as a favoured charity for 2014, and will be organising different fundraising events throughout the year.
So, if you want to see some of Sainsburys staff giving themselves a tough cycling workout on behalf of a local charity, be at their store on Saturday 13th.
