Write a commentA new Lip Reading Classes hosted by Southern Health and Social Care Trust to help clients with a hearing impairment is due to take place in Armagh 1 May.
It follows a recent eight week course completed by seven local participants.
Jackie Corr, who has just completed the 8 week course says “The course was only a taster of what learning to lip read involves in terms of time and effort. The course has encouraged me to think seriously about availing of further avenues of overcome my hearing difficulties.
“I may never become a fluent lip reader but now I know and understand that there is help out there which will allow me to handle situations such as crowded rooms, attending drama productions, listening to lectures and church sermons that cause me great discomfort, embarrassment and frustration.
A new class is due to commence on Tuesday 1st May in Dobbin Street Community Centre, Armagh, BT61 7QQ at 2pm – 4pm.
