Sitting Councilors Mickey Ruane and Oksana McMahon will be joined by Gerry O’Hare and Mary Tinnelly.
Mr O’Hare was born and raised in Hilltown before emigrating to America where he spent 17 years working in the construction industry. Returning to Crotlieve to settle down with his family, Gerry has been an active community leader in Hilltown and helped establish the first ever neighbourhood watch in the area. A father of three, Gerry is a keen Gaeilgeoir and is deeply passionate about improving the provision of Irish language and future development of Naíscoileanna in Crotlieve.
Mary Tinnelly is 28 years old and having spent her formative years in Dublin, has been living in Crotlieve for the past 15 years. Graduating from the Institute of Banking in Scotland, Mary now works locally as an Operations Manager for a leading Financial Services company. A keen fitness enthusiast, Mary has played Camogie from a young age and despite having to hang the boots up in recent years, she now enjoys running and keeping fit.
Speaking following the selection convention, Chris Hazzard MP said “I am delighted to announce such a strong, and diverse team to contest the local government election in Crotelive in May. The addition of Mary and Gerry to the team is a strong illustration that Sinn Féin are serious about delivering for all sections of our community in Crotlieve.
“Mickey and Oksana have done phenomenal work locally over the last few years so it’s no surprise that there is a growing demand in Crotlieve for the strong and active representation Sinn Féin deliver.
“I have no doubt that Mary and Gerry will bring a mix of energy, experience and skills to our team and will prove to be strong and active champions for all constituents in the years ahead."
