A number of cats have died by poisoning in Newry over the past two weeks.
The pets were in the Violet Hill/ College Gardens area of the city and it's reported that one woman lost two cats in less than 24 hours.
Helena Young from Meadow and Armagh Road Community Centre said "I've been in contact with the USPCA and environmental health, one of the owners has also been in contact with the PSNI and apparently there's nothing anyone can do"
Helena added "Two of these cats have been brought to the vet following their deaths and it has been confirmed that they have been poisoned.
"The owners of at least 4 of these cats had to watch their family pets suffer the most excruciating death, it has been awful for them."
Ms Young has appealed to the person/people responsible to please stop immediately.
