St Killian’s GAC in Whitecross has become a ‘Breastfeeding Welcome Here’ venue, with Páirc Naomh Cillian now carrying the Public Health Agency accreditation. The club joins Armagh GAA BOX-IT Athletic Grounds in being recognised under the scheme. The aim is to make sure mothers feel comfortable feeding their babies wherever they are on the premises.
The accreditation from the Public Health Agency recognises organisations that actively support breastfeeding mothers.
A club spokesperson said St Killian’s GAC was “absolutely delighted” with the news and wants Páirc Naomh Cillian to be a family-friendly environment for all of its supporters and visitors.
The club is an Irish Life GAA Healthy Club and promoting wellbeing is at the heart of everything it does. Many players, volunteers and supporters come to Páirc Naomh Cillian every week, and the club says it is important that busy breastfeeding mums feel supported and can continue to enjoy being part of the club community.
The venue is listed on the Breastfed Babies website under St Killian’s GAC: www.breastfedbabies.org
