A boat that sunk in the Albert Basin in mid January has been removed following a difficult operation that started early Sunday morning. The Badger had been moored outside The Quays Shopping Centre for some time. An oil containment boom had been in place around the sunken vessel.
A massive crane swung into action and the boat was placed on an articulated truck and removed in an operation that took seven hours with divers helping place the ropes.
While in transit on the back of the truck the mast of the boat came in contact with overhead lines while turning in to Kilmorey Street requiring engineers to attend.
