Evora Hospice is on the lookout for thrill-seekers willing to take the ultimate leap of faith, quite literally, in aid of palliative care services across Armagh, Down and Tyrone.
The hospice has opened sign-ups for its 2026 charity skydive, set to take place in Garvagh, near Coleraine, on Saturday, 30 May 2026. Those taking part will jump from 10,000 feet, with all funds raised going directly to support the hospice and the vital work it carries out across the region.
James McCaffrey, Fundraising Officer at Evora Hospice, said: "We are thrilled to announce the return of our charity skydive and invite everyone to be part of this exciting fundraising event. Our hospice supports over 600 people each year and support through events like this is so important as it helps us raise much-needed funds for hospice care."
Formerly known as Southern Area Hospice, Evora Hospice has been delivering specialist palliative care for over 35 years, supporting people living with a life-limiting illness, those caring for someone with a palliative condition, and those experiencing bereavement. Running the hospice costs approximately £6 million per year, of which £4 million must be raised through fundraising alone. That works out at around £335,000 every month, or £11,000 every single day, making events like the skydive a genuinely important part of keeping services running.
