Bypass Speed Limit appeal

Newry Council has appealed for caution during present road works. 

"Major construction works have been underway now for some time regarding the development of the section from Beechill to Cloghogue. These works are taking place in close proximity to a number of communities in the Newry area.

Given the large scale and lengthy duration of this project the Council would appeal on behalf of the communities who have been directly impacted by this scheme, that motorists adhere to the temporary speed limits which have been put in force along section of the bypass. These speed limits have been implemented to ensure safety for everyone including pedestrians, motorists and construction personnel, whilst this scheme progresses".
