It's part of the East Border Region Tourism Development Plan and Newry & Mourne District Council have secured funding from the EU’s INTERREG IVA Programme to run a series of six events in the new 'Cloughmore Centre' - the recently built Event Space at Kilbroney Park.
The events schedule runs until May 2015 and includes a varied programme including family and children’s events, educational talks, historic exhibitions, mountain bike seminars and seasonal workshops. The first took place in December.
Newry and Mourne District Council Mayor Daire Hughes said: “The Cloughmore Centre is a wonderful resource to have within the Park. It’s available to hire for a variety of events and it’s been very well received by local business, organisations and individuals who are keen to use the facility. These upcoming events organised by MAC PR, will give local people the chance to see the space in a variety of uses and we’re grateful to the funders for their support of this project,” he added.
The next event which takes place on the 29th January (7-9.30pm) is a Photographic exhibition in conjunction with Rostrevor Historical Society entitled Old Rostrevor: The Place the People.
