Write a commentThree people, two women and a man have been seriously injured in a two vehicle head on collision on the Tandragee Road, Newry last night, Wednesday 1 January.
The three were taken to hospital with very serious injuries following the crash which occurred around 6.40pm approximately two miles out of Newry.
The females, both thought to be in their 20s, were the driver and passenger in a white Renault Clio while the male, who is in his 50s, was the driver of a blue coloured BMW.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was travelling on the Tandragee Road at around 6.40pm or anyone who may have witnessed the collision. Please call 101, quoting reference 1946 01/01/20.
Passing his support on Newry and Armagh MLA, Justin McNulty said “I am so sorry to hear of this accident, which has left three people seriously injured.
“My thoughts are with those involved in the devastating crash outside Newry, on the Tandragee Road last night.
“The local community is in shock this morning. I am confident the whole community will support the families at this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have suffered serious injuries and we hope they make a full recovery.”
The road has been closed since last night and remains closed at present.
