A clean-up is underway on the B8 Hilltown Road, Newry after a large tree fell across the road earlier this morning during Storm Debi. The road is currently impassable. A large team are currently in place cutting up and removing the tree in challenging conditions.

The Crieve Road is also blocked at present with a fallen tree which has caused damage to fencing of a nearby property. Motorists are advised to find another route to their destination.
The Ballintemple Road, Meigh also is blocked with a fallen tree. Localised flooding is also an issue on some roads. The Omeath Road has also some flooding. Motorists are advised to slow down and drive with the conditions in mind.

Winds from Storm Debi reached up to 74mph at Killowen Point and earlier caused extensive flooding in parts of Galway and Salthill. Amber warning for wind and a Yellow warning for rain remain in place here until 12pm today.
