Translink are now running their 238 Goldliner coach service between Newry and Belfast every 20 minutes at key times in the morning and evening peaks from Monday to Friday. The 238b service also goes direct after the Banbridge stop at peak times.
It's part of an enhanced service offering 1500 more seats every week. Greg McLaughlin, Translink Service Delivery Manager, Newry, commented “This timetable and capacity enhancement is to cater for the increasing demand on our Newry to Belfast route. With around 1500 more seats available every week, this enhanced service will better connect the two cities and help to further grow the use of sustainable public transport on this route making way for a cleaner, better environment for all.
“This intercity Goldliner service offers our customers a fast, comfortable and relaxing journey experience. With free Wi-Fi, in seat USB charging points and generous leg room, passengers enjoy more productive time on board to catch up on emails, social media or just relax and have a snooze."
It's a great way to avoid car congestion benefiting from bus lane along the M1 directly into the Europa Buscentre.
At peak times Translink operate 238b services direct to Belfast after the Banbridge stops and the reverse for the evening return commute, speeding up journey times for passengers.
