Write a commentLast evening's storm may not have caused the same disruption and chaos as towns on the west coast but it still resulted in many roads blocked by fallen trees. One tree completely blocked the Omeath Road out of Newry last night with two additional felled trees still partially blocking the route.
Saval, Warrenpoint, Bessbrook, Newtownhamilton and Markethill all had trees blocking routes and Camlough's Christmas tree was left in a precarious state.
The Newry Canal towpath also fell victim to a fallen tree while hoarding at Cloughogue roundabout was also damaged.
Wind gusts of 50mph are forecast for today.
