SAH Fundraising officers James and Sarah get ready to Embark on the Ultimate Adventure

Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime? Southern Area Hospice is calling on thrill-seekers, adventurers, and charity champions to join them on their incredible Trekking Challenge along one of the most iconic landmarks in the world – the Great Wall of China!

From 19 to 27 September 2026, embark on a breathtaking 5-day trek across this world-renowned wonder while raising crucial funds for your local hospice. This is not just a hike; it’s an unforgettable journey that promises new friendships, unforgettable memories, and the immense satisfaction of making a real difference to your community.

James McCaffrey, Fundraising Officer at Southern Area Hospice said "Our overseas challenges are the perfect combination of adventure and purpose. They're tough, but incredibly rewarding. Not only will you conquer one of the world’s greatest wonders, but you’ll also be making a direct impact on the lives of local people facing life-limiting illnesses. Every step you take will support our services, and we’re with you every step of the way to help you succeed."

Why Take Part?

By signing up for this incredible challenge, you’re not just getting the chance to trek the Great Wall of China – you’re raising vital funds to support Southern Area Hospice Services. With a fundraising target of £3.6 million, we rely on the generosity of the local community to ensure we can continue providing high-quality care and support to local families living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
So, can you rise to the challenge and help us reach our goal?
