The Southern Trust are holding an event later this month aimed at children and young people living with Coeliac disease in the Trust area.
Titled 'Let’s talk Coeliac Disease' the event will give you an opportunity to chat with local suppliers from the Southern Trust area and further afield as well as meet others living with Coeliac Disease. There will be the opportunity to take part in cookery sessions and hear from the experts within the Southern Trust.
Coeliac disease is a serious, long-term autoimmune condition, which causes wide and varied symptoms. The implementation of a gluten free diet is the mainstay treatment for this medical condition. It can be challenging to stick to as gluten free products are not widely available, they taste different and they can be costly. There is also the challenge for young people feeling different from their peers. It is so important that someone with this condition adheres to the gluten free diet to prevent complications.
Let's talk Coeliac Disease is being held on Saturday 23 September 2023 at Brownlow Community Hub, Craigavon from 10am to 12 noon.
