Newry and Mourne Museum is pleased to present Vivaci Violini in concert at the Museum on Thursday 14th March at 8pm, tickets cost £8.
Vivaci Violini will be showcasing a mixture of popular, classical and traditional music in a truly one off performance when they perform in concert at the intimate setting of Newry and Mourne Museum.
The group was formed by Ann Speed in 2009 as a one-of-a-kind ensemble, bringing six violinists together to whom music plays a large part in their lives and careers.
They play a range of events, and since they formed, they have experimented in all types of music, ranging from classical concertos, through to the contemporary hits of Elbow and Blur.
The group has been very busy over the last number of years including visiting a recording studio to record their first few tracks and in 2011 performing at the renowned Electric Picnic Music Festival in Stradbally, Co. Laois.
As well as being a unique ensemble, they have their very own composer.
Amy Rooney was selected as the ‘Up Close Composer 2013’ by renowned contemporary music ensemble Concorde, which involves the commission of a new piece to be performed in Dublin’s RHA Gallery in April.
Commenting on the event, Museum curator Noreen Cunningham said that “we are delighted to host this evening of music and have such talented musicians visit the Museum, and I know that the group are extremely excited to perform such an eclectic programme.”
Tickets for the concert cost £8 and can be bought at Newry and Mourne Museum, but places are strictly limited. Doors open at 7.30pm with an 8pm start.
