Warrenpoint Harbour Authority’s annual community fund has presented £30,000 to 70 different organisations in the local area.
Over the last few years, the fund has raised over £90,000 for local causes.
This year’s fund saw the highest number of requests in the fund’s history with an average donation of £500. There are many recipients ranging from Kilkeel to Newry with organisations such as Woman’s aid Armagh Down, Newry and Mourne MS therapy centre and Head Injury Support.
CEO of the Warrenpoint Port David Holmes said “We are grateful for the generosity of our donors which included CLdN RoRo, tenants at the Port, agents, stakeholders, and team members. With the Port rounding up the donation to £30,000 we have been able to support so many organisations that have limited access to funding.”
