Water Shortage Provision

Newry and Mourne Council has provided details of planned temporary water shutdowns and locations where people can obtain water:

Due to the disruption of water supplies in the Newry and Mourne District Council Area, the Council in conjunction with NI Water has put the following measures into place to assist residents who have currently no water supply.

• Newry Leisure Centre, Kilkeel Leisure Centre, Crossmaglen Community Centre and Meigh Community Centre are open to facilitate the public to fill their own water containers. These centres will be opened from 9.30 am to 10.00 pm daily. •

Newry Leisure Centre is operating as normal and the public may avail of showering facilities free of charge. At this facility the public may take water away with them if they provide their own bottles etc.

COUNCIL WILL PROVIDE STATIC WATER TANKS FROM 10.00 AM – 8.30 PM AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:

PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL WATER RECEIVED FROM STATIC TANKS IS THROUGHLY BOILED BEFORE CONSUMPTION INCLUDING BRUSHING OF TEETH.
