Write a commentStrong winds and heavy rain continue in the Newry area this evening with some local flooding and even a tree brought down.
A 150 year old Beech tree was blown down by the wind at Derryleckagh outside Newry blocking the road for several hours. Cllr Gillian Fitzpatrick was on the road at the time and took to Twitter to alert people to the incident and the road closure.
Local volunteers managed to clear the road shortly before 7pm.
