Yew Gen Youth Club, Newry hosted an eclectic mix of musicians to a packed hall at the weekend as part of a celebration event marking the end of a six month cross community programme project based around diversity.
The project funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs reconciliation department was based at Newry Methodist Church. Over 20 teenagers participated in the programme exploring and appreciating other cultures locally whether that be Protestant, Catholic or ethnic minorities.
Saturday's event saw visitors entertained by musicians Gillian, Beatrice, Anne and Ewan from the Ulster Scots Association together with musicians and dancers from the Traditional Arts Partnership. MC Fergal O'Brien from TAP also held an impromptu Bodhran session.
Special guests on the night also included Niamh Noade "The girl with the harp' and the All Ireland Scór na nÓg 2025 finalists Felix and Martha McKeown and Niamh and Annie McVerry from St Killians GAC Whitecross as well as Ciara Grant, TAP tutor.
