Write a commentIf you are 14 to 17 year old, have an interest in the environment and would like to give something back to the local area while having fun doing it the Ring of Gullion have the programme for you.
Their two-week volunteer Youth Rangers programme will be running from 18th July to 29th July (excluding the weekend).
It is a fantastic opportunity for you to get out and explore the Ring of Gullion during your summer holidays. They use Slieve Gullion Forest Park as a central drop-off and collection point, but each day will take you to a different part of the Ring of Gullion area. You will have the opportunity to learn first aid, zombie apocalypse survival skills, canoeing, practical conservation skills and much more. All they ask from you in return is your enthusiasm and a willingness to participate in the programme.
The programme is being run by the Ring of Gullion Landscape Parntership, part funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, and delivered by Life Adventure. The programme is free; however successful applicants are asked for a £50 refundable deposit to secure your place.
Your deposit will be returned as long as you attend eight out of the ten days.
